Battle Over Caribou Continues

Two regional groups made up of municipal leaders continue to denounce claims by environmental groups.

The Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association and the Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities are shutting down claims by activists who say government isn't doing enough to save woodland caribou.

The municipal lobby groups are speaking out to say that the caribou's turf hasn't declined in the last few decades and that the animals are returning to previously harvested areas.

NOMA feels its dangerous to level accusations without a proper understanding of the caribou situation in the region.
