Weather Warning Now Over For Rainy River District

Posted on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 05:36 AM

Not the forecasted amounts expected but enough snow to make the ground white again.

Only a couple of centimetresof snow  are being measured in International Falls and Fort Frances since it began falling late yesterday afternoon, with another 10 millimetre of rain before that.

That pales in comparison to what some other communities received.

Vermilion Bay received 34 cm of snow, Kenora 26 cm and Sioux Lookout 29 cm.

In Minnesota, Roosevelt, located on near the south shore of Lake of the Wood, was hit with almost 30 cm while Warroad recorded about 20 cm.

Baudette received close to 12 cm.

Plows and sanders are out.

So far, no school bus cancellations have yet been reported.
