Coroner Talks Alcohol Dangers With Youth

The real dangers of excess alcohol consumption is being explained to area youth by the regional supervising coroner for Ontario's north region.

Dr. Michael Wilson is using his experiences in presentations to high school students, talking about some of the cases he's investigated.

Wilson says his presentation isn't meant to be a scared straight exercise, but rather one to change young people's attitudes and behaviours toward alcohol.

Of the 175 deaths involving young people in his region over the past five years, 70 were alcohol related.
