A nearly two year wait for a local group that raised money to host a refugee family is finally nearing an end.
A family of six who has been living in Lebanon for several years is scheduled to arrive in Fort Frances by the end of the week.
Families for Families spokesperson Kathy Mueller says committee member are very excited.
The group has had everything in place for several months.
Meuller says there was an expectation the family would arrive in May, but unknown circumstances in Lebanon kept the family from coming to Canada.
She says things seemed to get moving again when the family father made an inquiry on their status in September.
The family is flying to Thunder Bay Thursday where they will stay a couple of days before making the trip by car to their new home.
