Plans to split the riding of Kenora-Rainy River into two is being welcomed by a candidate looking to represent the PC party in the next provincial election.
The Far North Electoral Boundaries Commissions recommends the northern section becoming a separate riding.
Douglas Judson says it make sense given the differences between communities in the Far North to those in the southern parts of the district.
Judson says his inability to visit any of those communities in the early parts of his campaigning show the challenges anyone has had to represent a riding as large as it is.
Judson adds the PC party had been waiting for the Commission to finalize its work before moving ahead with nomination meetings.
