Five high school curling teams from the Rainy River district have earned berths to the NWOSSA championships next month in Fort Frances.
Fort Frances Muskies mixed team skipped by Jordan Bazylewski swept past Sioux Lookout's Queen Elizabeth 9-0 in a tie-breaker to win gold.
Both teams had finished with 3-1 records.
In boys curling, Atikokan's team went 5-0 while Fort Frances High's Chris Silver and his rink went 4-1 to earn silver.
In girls curling, it was Rainy River going perfect to win gold while Tory Beaudry's Muskies team finished second with a 4-1 record.
The NWOSSA's will be held March 4 and 5 at the Fort Frances Curling Club.
Annalise Hayes scored four times, including the game winner, to help the Fort Frances Muskies girls hockey team to a 5-4 win over Kenora's Thomas Aquanis Saints in Kenora.
Avery Cates had the Muskies other goal.
English River Miners forward Jacob Siebenga has been named player of the week in the SIJHL.
Dustin Roitelman was the Fort Frances Lakers nominee.
