Work on the Rainy Lake Square in Fort Frances is expected to begin next next week.
RML Contracting out of Thunder Bay has already started moving some equipment to the Scott St. location.
Construction is expected to take about two and half months.
During the work, parking directly behind the Square property will be eliminated.
The same company will also be fixing up the sidewalk in the 200 block of Scott Street and in front of the Civic Centre.
It includes the removal of trees which have been the cause of damage to town infrastructure and some properties.
Other sidewalk section of Scott will be repaired in later years.
Total cost of the work is pegged at $2.1 million.
