A busy weekend for the Ministry of Natural Resources.
More than 30 new forest fires popped up, including 18 by mid-afternoon yesterday.
Most are small in size and burning within the MNR's Red Lake, Thunder Bay, Nipigon, Sioux Lookout and Dryden fire districts.
The MNR says it has been able to keep them under control.
A few are being monitored as they are in remote areas and posing no threat to the public.
